Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad: A Flavorful Celebration of Summer | The Food Diaries

 


Hello, fellow foodies!

Welcome back to my Summer Salad Series! Today, I have the extreme pleasure of sharing with you this really beautiful and seriously delicious Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad, featuring some of the best things from summer.



Ingredients:

    •  4 heirloom tomatoes, sliced
    •  1 ball of burrata cheese
    •  1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
    •  2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
    •  1 tsp salt
    •  1/2 tsp black pepper
    •  Fresh basil leaves, chopped (optional)





Instructions:

  1. Arrange the tomato slices on a large serving platter or individual plate.
  2. Cut the burrata cheese into pieces and place them over the tomatoes.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
  4. If desired, garnish with chopped fresh basil.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!



Tips and Variations:

  • Add a nice crunch with some toasted bread croutons or crispy prosciutto.
  • Make without burrata; use mozzarella or feta instead.
  • This salad makes an excellent side dish for grilled meats or a light lunch.
